You may never have heard of this, but this little berry is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world.
Acai is the high-energy berry of a special Amazon palm tree which is native to South America. They are roughly the same size as a blueberry and come with an inedible seed in each one.
According to Amherst College's Acai Report 2005, Acai berries contain (but are not limited to): Antioxidants, Omega fats 3,6, and 9, Amino Acids, Proteins, Xanthones, Anthocyanins, Dietary fiber, Essential minerals - iron, potassium, phosphorus calcium, and phyonutrients.
