2021 is almost over, which means 2022 is just around the corner. This year (2021) has been a mixed year for many, it seems, but next year can be as good as we want it to be. Here are seven ideas to make your 2022 the best year possible.

Vision board

A vision board is the perfect way to prepare for the following year.

For this, you will need a corkboard or something you can stick print-outs to, and then all you need to do is decide on your goals for 2022. Print out a photo for each goal or wish, and the bigger the image, the more you wish to manifest this event or feeling.

This allows you to not only plan for the things you wish to happen in the coming year, but by printing images out and hanging the board up somewhere visible, you can see your goals every day.

Bucket list

Making a bucket list for your entire life can seem a little daunting to some, so why not just make one for 2022?

12 months is a long time to complete goals and wishes, and to plan to try something completely new. Whether your bucket list includes trying a new restaurant or going skydiving, it is important to include achievable goals for the year, rather than generic life-time goals.

It is completely fine if you don’t get around to ticking everything off your list, but having it there can motivate and remind you what possibilities are out there.

Detox regularly

With how busy many of us have been in 2021, it may be a good idea for us to detox on a regular basis.

A detox can be different for everyone, so if you work in social media for example, it might be a good idea to have a day at home without your phone (but keep it close by in case of emergency) or any social media platforms, and read a book or do some DIY instead.

Taking time away from a large stress in your life, whether you go away or stay at home, it’s important to relax and take time for you.

A detox can also include you reducing your alcohol intake or unhealthy foods, so drinking smoothies and having healthier meals can do wonders for your mental and physical health.

Clean weekly

A clear space leads to a clear mind, and the start of a new year is the perfect time to create a simple, easy schedule and do your best to stick to it.

Cleaning your home can seem like a sizable task, especially if you find it to maintain your space. So, you may have to combat a large-scale clean but, after that, pick a day of the week when you are least likely to be busy, and set that as your cleaning day.

Doing a small clean every week can be so rewarding, and the longer you stick to your chosen day, the more you will enjoy it and reap the benefits of a lovely, clean home afterwards.

Wellness plan

Health isn’t just being physically fit and active, it’s also about your mental wellbeing, too.

Planning out things for the new year that you think might make you feel better can be a brilliant way of bettering your mental health. Writing down things such as practicing mindfulness, scheduling exercise (even if it’s a short walk around your home), staying hydrated, taking time to look after yourself, and even booking dental, eye and physical appointments.

Making a note of all this will remind you to take care of yourself, and look after every sing bit of your being.

Mission statement

A mission statement can be a short or long written piece that highlights what will be important to you in the following year.

Taking the time to write down what you want to happen after New Year’s, what you want to achieve, where you want to go, and so on, is so good for your mind to focus on the things you have deemed significant to you.

Writing it down allows you time to think about what you want, and what you wish to manifest for the year to come.

Review your year

It is very important to look back on the year that has passed, in order to figure out what worked for you and what didn’t; this way, you can move forward with the knowledge of how to manoeuvre through the coming 12 months.

Knowing that, for example, working out five out of seven days of the week didn’t help, is important information to review, as you can then plan a workout regime that still challenges you and also motivates you.

Looking back can be a good thing, as it will help you realise what you want in the year to come.
