The new app for the iPhone provides users with healthy meal recommendations and within the app you can purchase food from popular supermarket chains. Whether you are looking to lose weight or lead a healthier lifestyle this app is for you. Nutrino will help you organise meal plans for the day and by taking a short questionnaire you can keep track of your progress and view your goals, habits, preferences and tastes.
There is a staggering one billion overweight adults in the world and at least 300 million of them are clinically obese. The rate of obesity has risen dramatically since the 80’s and obesity is causing other problems including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and certain forms of cancer. Being overweight can have some major health consequences and it will reduce the overall quality of your life. Nutrino will help you to reach that healthier lifestyle.
There have been health and fitness apps in the past but Nutrino is specifically tailored to you. Through its patented technology the app is one of a kind, it will learn your eating habits and preferences and create an eating plan just for you. You can add meals or daily plans to the Grocery List and users in the UK can purchase from supermarkets and shops such as Tesco, Asda, Costa Coffee and Eat. You can also highlight each meal and it will reveal the nutritional information. Nutrino have integrated with Withings and users of Withings Wireless Scales can sync both of their accounts together to keep a log of their weight. Nutrino will adapt meals based on this so users don’t have to input the data themselves.
Withings have commented on the partnership by saying ‘We’re always looking to expand the number of apps and devices that work with our Smart Body Analyzer scale and are delighted to partner up with Nutrino, like Withings, they are really looking to revolutionise how people maintain a healthy lifestyle.’ They also said that ‘By working together to create personalised meal plans for our users, based on their weight, we’re making it a little easier for busy people to eat well and use technology they already have to stay in good shape.’
Jonathan Lipnik, the CEO and co-founder of Nutrino spoke out about the new app. He said ‘We created Nutrino because we were tired of seeing so much of the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to nutrition. We believe nutrition should be personal to each individual. He also said that ‘People are using lots of different apps and gadgets to track their diet or fitness but there is nothing out there that delivers recommendations and that are personalised to each of us.’
The app took eight months to produce and it was finally launched on the 25th of April 2013. It is available for free download at the Apple App store now. An android version of the app is currently in development and will be available very soon.
