The Iyashi Dome: A 30 Minute Craving Cure
Trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle can be hard, especially cutting back on caffeine, sugar and alcohol. The intention is often there, but so is the temptation. Children’s treats, a morning coffee or that cheeky chocolate bar whilst watching Coronation Street can be hard to resist. Cravings are natural, but they’re as much to do with your mental state, as they are to do with actual physical cravings. It’s often the association between the two things that triggers the craving, so this week I’m going to help you to eliminate the craving.
What is the Iyashi Dome?
The Iyashi Dome is a beauty treatment that uses high temperatures of heat to cleanse and detox your whole body. Each session lasts 30 minutes, during which the heat causes your body to sweat profusely, removing all of the harmful toxins that it has absorbed as a result of bad diet choices, pollution and other environmental influences. This acts as a reset button on your body, removing its memory of sugar, caffeine and alcohol, therefore allowing you to start again without previous dietary choices influencing your future dietary decisions.
How does it work?
The reason the Iyashi Dome is so effective in detoxing your body is that, unlike other beauty treatments which superficially cleanse the exterior of the body, this treatment makes its presence known, both inside and outside, meaning that the results are much more effective and last longer. Plus, with each session burning up to 600 calories, frequent sessions have been proven to aid weight loss when combined with regular exercise and a healthy diet.
What happens?
During the treatment, you are asked to get undressed and lie inside the Iyashi Dome, whilst the beauty assistant increases the temperature. The temperature will rise quite a lot, but this is necessary for the dome to work its magic. Don’t worry because it will never reach a level that is uncomfortably hot, so just think about it like you’re sunbathing on a gorgeous, sunny beach, listen to the relaxing music and let yourself distress and unwind.
TOP TIP: Avoid having the treatment during your lunch break.
30 minutes might seem short and sweet; however the effects will continue for up to 2 hours afterwards. Consequently, you should avoid showering until then as, if you shower straight away, it will limit the effectiveness of the treatment. Not to worry though as, after the treatment they will give you a selection of lovely smelling products to use instead, so you’ll be able to leave feeling fresh and clean.
Did it work?
Knowing that one of my clients is a particularly big coffee addict and chocoholic, I sent her to try the Iyashi Dome, as we both knew that if it could help to stop her craving them, it could help anyone… and guess what… IT WORKED!!!
It has now been 9 days since she tried the treatment and she still hasn’t succumbed to coffee or chocolate. It’s not that she’s actively trying to avoid them; she just doesn’t fancy them anymore. She has also experienced other benefits including softer, clearer skin, reduced water retention and feelings of revitalization and motivation. With this in mind, maybe the Iyashi Dome is much more than it at first seems. When trying to diet, lose weight, avoid bad foods, one of the hardest things to get used to is having them around you, but not eating them. The Iyashi Dome eliminates this problem. Usually, I’m skeptical about ‘fads’, ‘crazes’ and ‘miracle cures’ but, having seen the results, this is definitely worth a try.
So, next time you’re watching Coronation Street and are about to reach for that chocolate bar, stop and think…. Do you actually want it? Or are you just grabbing it because it’s a habit?

I Love… SAVSE FRESH VEGETABLE JUICES
If you are thinking about detoxing your diet, it doesn’t need to be complicated or expensive. Forget all of those detox cookery books and bibles. They overcomplicate things and are a big reason why people give up. Instead, try replacing 1 or 2 meals a day with a fresh fruit or vegetable juice. You’ll still get your usual meal, but after a few days you’ll feel a lot better and look a lot healthier.
If you have time, you can make them at home, but I love SaVse fresh vegetable juices (www.savsesmoothies.com). They come in lots of delicious flavours, are free from preservatives and colourings, and are easily available, making them perfect for grabbing on the run. My favourite is beetroot, apple, avocado, lime, mango and lemon so give it a try!
