Thanks to famous chefs and celebrities, kale sales have increased

We’ve all been reading about the wonderful benefits of kale, and it would seem that we’re taking notice of the information too.

Sales of kale have soared thanks to numerous celebrities, nutritionists and chefs talking about the positive health effects.

Gwyneth Paltrow is just one of the famous faces who regularly eats the low calorie, high fibre vegetable. The actress uses the ingredient in her cookbook plenty of different times.

According to the latest research, kale has seen a 40% increase in sales driven by good availability, quality and attractive prices.

One grower told the trade magazine, The Grocer: “It has been readily available on shelves and that, along with good, consistent quality, has been a key factor in driving growth.”

Celebrity chefs including Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall have boosted the popularity of the vegetable by featuring it in a wide variety of recipes.
