The Disability Discrimination Act The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) requires more than an employer simply treating everyone the same, because in some cases this might disadvantage a disabled person.

The access to Work programme provides financial assistance

Employers are obliged to make any reasonable adjustments to the workplace, or to the way work is done, which would guarantee that a disabled employee is not substantially disadvantaged.

The DDA applies to all employment matters including recruitment, training, performance management, protection from harassment, promotion and dismissal.
