Washing your hands should come naturally, but doesn't to a lot of people

Washing your hands should come naturally, but doesn't to a lot of people

Hygiene levels are dipping in offices all over Britain, as new research reveals that one in three workers fail to wash their hands after visiting the bathroom.

The study, conducted by UKBathrooms.com, found that 30% of people who go to the toilet whilst in the office only use water to clean their hands after a toilet trip.

Peter Gregg, Director of UKBathrooms.com, had the following to say:

“The majority of office workers can probably think of a colleague who they suspect has dubious hygiene habits. It seems that our survey confirms these suspicions, and if it’s not you or the person next to you, then it could very well be the person sitting opposite who fails to wash properly. The fact that such a high percentage of people fail to clean their hands when at work makes a mockery of everybody else going to the trouble. Just as soon as you touch the door handle to let yourself out, you’re picking up the germs of those who’ve not bothered!”

He continued:

“It’s even worse in an office environment where there’s a lot of interaction between colleagues. Keeping your hands clean is an important part of keeping down the spread of office illness. If the recent Norovirus outbreak tore through your office like wild fire and the paper towels in the loo never seem to need replacing then that’s probably more than coincidence...”
