The warmer weather looks set to stick around for a while, so it means we're going to be having more skin on show.
Don't let the warmer weather de-motivate your fitness goals, you need to stick at them no matter what comes your way.
USA Pro Personal Trainer Lucy Wyndham Read has put together her top tips for keeping you motivated in the run up to your holiday.
TIP 1: LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD
Invest in some lovely gym kit as this will inspire you to show it off.
TIP 2: RUN TO THE BEAT
Create a Summer playlist on your iPod as music is a great motivator toget you working out.
TIP 3: JOIN FORCES
Set up a Facebook page and encourage your friends to join in and post about their workouts and tips – this is a great way to keep you and your friends motivated.
TIP 4: PERSONAL BEST
Do your own fitness test before you get started. This could be as simple as timing how long it takes you to walka mile or how many jumping squats you can do. This will give you something to measure your fitness against.
TIP 5: COMMIT TO A GOAL
This can be something as simple as aiming to work out 4 times a week for exactly one month or fitting into those hot pants. This will give you something to strive for.
TIP 6: LESS IS MORE
Don’t think you have to spend an hour working out; you can still have a highly effective training session bydoing 20 minutes of training.
TIP 7: MIX IT UP
Look online, find some fun new exercises to tone different areas you want to keep sculpted – this will keep your workouts more interesting
TIP 8: LOSE THE EXCUSES
Be tough on yourself and don’t take no for an answer. You have to put in the effort to reap the rewards.
TIP 9: MOTIVATIONAL MANTRA
Create your own little fitness motto and repeat this to yourself several times each day
TIP 10: BE EXCITED!
The Summer is the best time to give yourself an amazing fit healthy body! Just do it!
