The ‘Little Black Dress’ time of year is fast approaching with Christmas parties and new year celebrations filling up the calendar.
Instead of panicking about how to get in shape in time, be inspired by former transatlantic sailor, adventurer, broadcaster and fitness fanatic Hannah White who has some quick tips to get your body and mind prepared for the party dress season.
- Plan your exercise routine. Put it in your diary like you would a work meeting as you are more likely to stick to that time and discipline.
- Set realistic manageable goals, if they are unrealistic you will feel disheartened when you don't achieve them and if it is too easy and you will get lazy
- Workout with other people – there is nothing like a bit of peer pressure to spur you on – group exercise like spinning is GREAT!
- Don’t feel that a workout has to be 90 mins of hard graft you can burn 50-100 calories in 10 minutes here and there.
- Drink loads of water. Always drink before you eat – it fills you up and if you are dehydrated slows down your metabolism.
- Eat slower, Eat less. Eating 500 calories less a day means you will drop at least a pound a week without exercising.
- Write everything you eat down. You will be totally amazed how many extra things you pop in your mouth without even thinking about it.
- Go and buy some nice workout gear that you feel good in. If you feel good you will be more inclined to exercise!!
