Lose the holiday pounds now

Holiday tempations got the better of 45 per cent of people who admit that they lost their willpower to eat healthily on their summer break.

But as the summer season comes to an end it's back to normal working hours and time to listen to top independent experts who share their tips on how to lose weight and get back in shape.

Leading UK dietitian Helen Bond and consultant to the free XLS-Medical online weight management programme ‘123 hello me’ comments: “September is often when we make an effort to review our diet and exercise routines and try to make healthy choices but it’s important that we maintain those initial motivation levels and keep bad habits at bay. It’s all too easy to make excuses and to compromise on weight loss goals when we know our waistlines are going to be covered up for a few months.”

Dieters who are attempting to get back on the weight loss wagon before the colder weather takes hold should also be wary of diet obstacles that may get in the way of achieving sustainable weight loss.

The research, conducted by XLS-Medical Fat Binder, noted 76 per cent of people crave stodgy food in winter months which can result in weight gain.

Sustainable weight loss is achieved with a healthy balanced diet and exercise and promisingly the research found that 1 in 10 are more motivated to exercise as a result of the Olympic Games.

Eliise Lindsay, celebrity personal trainer and fitness advisor to XLS-Medical ‘s ‘123 hello me’ weight management  programme comments: “The London Olympics has put sport firmly on the UK’s agenda this year so it’s encouraging to see people feeling inspired to get active. Light to moderate exercise is recommended for everybody all year round. Anyone looking to get in shape and lose weight should incorporate a healthy eating approach and balanced exercise at least twice a week. For extra weight loss support consider trying XLS-Medical Fat Binder which can help dieters lose up to three times more weight than dieting alone – a useful support to help people on the way to reaching their weight loss goals.”
