What better than to get fit and raise money at the same time - that we can do this summer ladies. It's a win, win situation.
Marie Curie Cancer Care is calling all of you to 'Walk Ten' this summer with a series of unique summer evening walks, which are supported by Homeserve.
These are taking place at 20 venues around the country, such as the estates of stately homes, many of which are usually closed to the public.
Plus, at the end of each 10k walk, there will be fun activities throughout the even, such as fireworks, live music and pinics, in celebration of the work of Marie Curie Nurses.
The nurses who work for Marie Curie provide free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes and in charity's hospices.
HomeServe employee Jayne Neal. who took part in the Shugborough Walk Ten last year, says: "Walk ten is a brilliant occasion, giving people the chance to walk 10k in stunning surroundings, but also recognise the dedication of Marie Curie Nurses, who work through the day and night providing care to people with cancer and other terminal illnesses.
"There's a real festival atmosphere at the end of every walk where friends an families come together. Then at 10pm, which is the time Marie Curie Nurses start their night shifts across the country, candles are lit and everyone is silent for a few moments to think about the nurses and the people they are caring for. The fun then continues late into the summer evening."
With more and more women signing up to do this and other runs and walks, Bupa have devised a new fitness product, called the Fitness Assessment.
It offers the opportunity to gain a detailed, focused fitness analysis for both the keen and amatuer athlete; allowing both to understand how best to achieve peak performance and to gain bespoke advice on how to improve their fitness.
