Women using everyday activities as a form of exercise

A gym membership, plus classes, plus swimming all adds up - it's great that you want to lose weight and get fit, but the cost manages to mount up pretty quickly.

New research reveals that women are feeling the pinch so are weaving calorie burning activites into their everyday lives, with 76 per cent saying they're more inclined to have sex when they're tired after a hard day because of the calories that it will burn.

Yes ladies, if you didn't already know sex burns a lot of calories. Benefits all round.

But men, don't get too excited by this, because they also found that 28 per cent of women count a good old row as a great way to lose unwanted weight.

The survey conducted by Aspire, the UK's first calorie burning sof drink, also found that women are taking on more in the home and at work in an effort to shed the pounds and save money too.

"We are burning calories constantly as we go about our day-to-day business and it's about being aware of the small things we can do to give us an extra boost," says Darren Linnell, creator of Aspire.

"Aspire works by kick starting the body's metabolism to increase your calorie burning potential during those everyday activities."

People often forget that the everyday activities we do can help increase our calorie burning, especially if we do them with some vigour.

Not under any illusions, British women ranked exercise as the top way to lose weight, but still seemed open to shedding calories in small everyday ways.

The top 10 unusual activities British women would consider:

1. Having sex
2. Window shopping
3. Vaccuming
4. Arguing aggressively
5. Cooking a large meal (not too sure what you're cooking - but it best be healthy)
6. Riding on the underground
7. Belly laughing
8. Kissing
9. Flirting with a stranger
10. Sneezing
