Cat Bull
At just 23, medical student Cat Bull is one of ten million people in the UK living with arthritis.
While the condition is often associated with the older generations, Cat is one of thousands of young adults and children living with the inflammatory form of the disease, rheumatoid arthritis, in the UK.
Whilst rheumatoid arthritis is a painful and often debilitating condition it hasn’t stopped Cat embarking on the Virgin London Marathon, one of the biggest athletic challenges in the world.
Cat had a hip replacement when she was 14 yet she is still planning on running the 26 mile course.
When the training gets tough for Cat, remembering that a few years ago she could barely walk and her mum had to feed and dress her, keeps her going.
She says: "Being able to even attempt the marathon is fantastic. Inevitably the illness has given me problems along the way but I refuse to let the disease ruin my life or stop me achieving my goals."
In the following video she tells how she has slowly built up to the big race and how she has overcome the obstacles along the way.
She’ll also give a fascinating insight into what it’s like to live with arthritis at such a young age.
