“Just five more minutes!” Admittedly, the snoozing of an alarm button has become second nature to many people but you may think twice about prolonging the inevitable after new research has shown that hitting snooze can have a negative affect on your complexion.
The study suggests that a more relaxed morning call will do wonders for your skin and prepare you for the day ahead. Getting your eight hours a night is not enough to keep you rejuvenated during the winter months, the way you wake is just as important.
A new product has been created to help you wake up early in a natural way, ensuring you minimize damage to your skin during the coldest months of the year.
Although the specially designed Wake-Up lights don’t come cheap, they make dragging yourself out of bed feel more natural. An added bonus is that you could potentially save yourself money as you will no longer be reliant on other skin products.
Dermatologist Dr Sam Bunting explained: "An easy wake-up leads to a better, more positive mind set throughout the day and is key to skin recovery from damage due to environmental stress such as sun and wind exposure and pollution.
Getting enough quality sleep requires that we sleep and wake-up at the right time and harmony between your internal clock and your skin is key to a beautiful complexion. The dawn light stimulated through the Wake-Up Light helps keep the skin looking plump, firm and glowing with health and is a great way to combat stress and start the day."
Natural light is restricted at this time of year, leaving skin tired and aggravated, so the new product hopes to put the light back into your lives and leave you looking radiant. It starts emitting light half an hour before your required wake-up time and mimics the rising of the Sun.
The light offers a choice of three different sounds to ease you into the day, it depends whether you prefer birds in the forest, sounds of the African jungle or soft chimes in the wind.
Though the Wake-Up light may not have the power to change the temperature outside, its ability to leave you feeling energised hopes to combat your winter blues.
