We've all been working hard trying to achieve that perfect bikini body, but whose body is it we actually want to look like?
Extensive research has found that it's not just one celebrities body that we would like to emulate, but bits and pieces from a number of the.
'Sophie' the official owner of Britiain's perfect bikini body has been compiled by the arms of Cheryl Cole, the chest of Michelle Keegan, stomach of Jessica Ennis, bottom of Pippa Middleton and the legs of Kate Middleton.
Based on comprehensive interviews with 2,000 British women and interpreted by Littlewoods.com’s team of fashion experts, the study was undertaken to create a composite image of the nation’s perfect bikini body.
Commenting on the research findings Jo Hemmings, celebrity behavioural psychologist, said: “What is clear from the research is that celebrities play an incredibly key role in women’s aspirations when it comes to their own body types.
“It is particularly interesting to see that the celebrities coming out on top are what we would rightly class as ‘natural beauties’. This shows a significant shift away from surgery-enhanced celebrities of only a few years ago who would have been topping the polls.”
Breakdown of the perfect celebrity bikini body
It was by a clear mile that the Middleton sisters owned their asset categories. The Duchess of Cambridge ran away with the crown for her model-like legs, and that’s some feat, as she was up against Olympic favourite Jessica Ennis, who came second with 15 per cent of the votes.
Pippa Middleton (26 per cent) held a similar percentage lead on her closest rear-rival, Lucy Mecklenburgh, who received 16 per cent of the votes, showing that her well acclaimed derrière didn't just steal the limelight of the Wedding of the Year 2011, but now too, the whole nation.
There were however some very close contenders in the assets stakes, namely within the arms category. Fighting for her love, Cheryl Cole (18 per cent) only just pipped Strictly Star Alesha Dixon (17 per cent), Michelle Keegan (15 per cent) and Jessica Ennis (14 per cent) to be recognised for having the UK's most wanted female arms.
When it came to the breasts however Corrie pin-up Michelle Keegan was in a league of her own. With a whopping 31 per cent of the votes, Michelle proves that she’s not just the most Wanted celebrity in Weatherfield but the entire country.
Julie Donnelly, Head of Womenswear at Littlewoods.com also commented: "The findings are very interesting and it is certainly a great insight into the different body shapes women aspire to have. It’s also very positive to see so much variety in this, showing that women no longer feel they have to conform to a particular body type."
