Fish oils are nature’s answer to aging – but scientists are not talking of aging of the ‘fine lines and wrinkles’ variety. They’re talking about health and strength from the inside, which shows on the outside.
The benefits of fish oils (Omegas 3 & 6) have dominated health news and newspaper column inches recently – and for good reason too. There’s no end to the health benefits of fish oils, and research shows better brain development, improved heart health and reduced inflammation.
But now, researchers at Aberdeen University say there’s new evidence to suggest that fish oils can give people younger, fitter, stronger bodies.
In a recent study regular doses of fish oil alongside regular exercise “improved the muscular strength of women in their late sixties by 20%”. The researchers say it only took twelve weeks for significant and noticeable improvements power and mass to develop.
According to scientists, the problem of an ageing body may stem from the fact that as we get older, our body’s ability to increase muscle mass begins to decline, making it more difficult to build achieve our perfect shape and strength. This decline can begin as early as our 30s.
Speaking at the British Science Festival in Aberdeen, Dr Stuart Gray said: “We’re trying to make older muscle adapt like younger muscle, and that’s where we think fish oil can come in.”
Many of us simply are not getting enough because Omega fatty acids from fish oils are essential fatty acids, meaning they must come from our diet; our body cannot make them.
Vegepa is a high quality and effective Omega supplement. It’s an essential supplement for those wishing to maintain svelte figures, or simply help protect their body against age-related muscle decline.
