A new study reveals that UK workplaces and the nation’s holidays and love lives are being significantly affected by the population’s poor digestive health
The report called ‘Digestive Matters’ shows that two-thirds of people in the UK (66%) suffer from digestive health problems; with one in four suffering weekly and half at least monthly (49.8%) from a digestive illness. Over half (57.1%) have also missed work because of diarrhoea while one in eight claim their digestive health has lowered their libido significantly, and two-thirds (66.8%) have had an upset stomach while abroad. Yet despite research showing that the beneficial effects of probiotics make them suitable for use in a wide range of conditions, over one-third of people surveyed for the report (35%) did not know that prebiotics and probiotics could help digestion. Even more people (44.3%) did not know the difference between good and bad bacteria, while a similar number thought that we needed hardly any or only a little bacteria because of concerns that bacteria might be harmful.
In this video, media GP Dr Paul Stillman and independent dietician Dr Carrie Ruxton talk about digestive health and what we can do about it – including using Life’s-Biotic a revolutionary food supplement, combining clinically-proven probiotics within a patented formulation.
