We all wish our stomach would stay like this after Christmas

The majority of British women dread the effects of Christmas and 67% hate the look of their stomach after a few too many mince pies, according to new research.

The survey also revealed that the majority of British women are unhappy with putting on weight, and that these worries reach a peak around the festive season when everyone is eating rich fattening food and drinking too much.

Flabby tummies may be acceptable on Father Christmas but two thirds of British women hate the way their stomach looks and the second most hated part of British women’s bodies is their thighs, then their hips and 46% are dissatisfied with their body shape in general. The data from the survey was researched by top Harley Street clinic Lovelite from their patients and from the latest YouGov data.

LoveLite owner Debra Robson-Lawrence said: “Christmas should be a time of celebrating and relaxing with friends and family but instead the majority of British women are stressed out from calculating the effects of all the extra food and drink. They are dreading the fact that their figure is going to expand and especially hate putting on weight around their tummy.”

As a result of the body image issues, demand for non-surgical fat-reduction treatments has risen sharply and the LoveLite clinic has seen a 200% increase on last year. At present the clinic is fully booked with women wanting to pre-empt the Christmas weight gain with a treatment before the break. A single 60-minute treatment generally takes an inch off the waistline which is around 30% of the fat in that area.

Debra Robson-Lawrence added: ”We’ve had a lot of women book in for Lipoglaze treatments now to take off hard to lose fatty areas before the Christmas break to make up for the weight they think they are going to put on during the festive break.

“Most want to remove fat off their stomach but there is also a significant number that want to have fat-reduction treatment on their thighs and hips.”

The LoveLite survey also found that nearly a third of women would not consider having invasive fat reduction treatments because they fear it may go wrong, which is why more women are turning to totally safe treatments like Lipoglaze, which is a pain-free hour long treatment that freezes fat cells which then naturally waste away.

The findings of the LoveLite research mirrors that of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on body image which revealed that half the UK pubic suffers from negative body image.
