Millions us have embarked on a New Year diet, and we've been informed that plenty of us have already given up on our new regime - but let's not be too hasty.
We have just the thing for you, Jarod Chapman, a celebrity personal trainer, gives us his top tips for those starting an exercise plan.
So before you start anything else, you have to listen to the podcast below.
Let's face it though, it's not going to easy, especially as according to the results of a poll released today by Slendertone, 80 per cent of us see Britain as a nation of beer bellies and muffin tops as opposed to a land of toned abs and six packs.
But are we really to blame for our less than taut and toned physiques, or are we simply doing the wrong toning exercises over and over and over – achieving nothing and giving up before we’ve seen any results?
The research shows that a quarter of people believe getting toned abs is too hard work, around 30 per cent say they don’t have the willpower and more than one in ten don’t have the time – but is that because we’re under the false impression we need to do 500 sit ups a day to see our bodies change?
Besides fab abs, those of us starting exercise regimes this week are likely to be longing for lean legs, awesome arms and toned bums or even just to lose some weight overall. But how many of us will be wasting our time by embarking on fitness plans that are outdated and unlikely to help us achieve what we desire the most – a great body?
So what are the biggest exercise myths that are likely to stop you from seeing the results you crave? Do you need to exercise for an hour a day to really make a difference, or are short sharp bursts more beneficial? Are weights the only way to make muscles, or are you too scared you’ll look like Arnie if you pump iron?
Listen to the podcast and let us know how you get on, come on make this the last time you have to start from scratch and get fit for the final time this year.
