Jo Wood and Brendan Cole are dancing together again

Brendan Cole has choreographed a dance that aims to lower cholesterol and he's using Jo Wood to help perform it.

Flora pro.activ have announced the launch of the ‘Swing Into Action’ cholesterol-lowering campaign.

Flora pro.activ has teamed up with world-class dance professional dancer and choreographer Brendan Cole to create an energetic jive-inspired warm up routine to inspire consumers to take the Flora pro.activ challenge to lower cholesterol. Lifestyle guru, and Brendan’s former dance partner, Jo Wood offers her expertise demonstrating how easy the cholesterol-lowering dance is to pick up and follow.

The Flora pro.activ ‘Swing Into Action’ Campaign is aiming to increase awareness amongst those over 45 years old about the risk of raised cholesterol and how, by dancing, they can help to lower it.

The challenge encourages individuals to try Flora pro.activ products and implement Brendan’s warm up routine, in order to help them lower their cholesterol. As part of their involvement in the Flora pro.activ Swing Into Action campaign, Brendan Cole and Jo Wood will be touring the country visiting local dance clubs, inspiring dance enthusiasts to make healthy life choices and lower their cholesterol. Anyone who takes the challenge will have the chance to win tickets to special dance classes in August.

Brendan Cole commented: “I’m delighted to be involved in the Flora pro.activ Swing Into Action campaign and I’m thrilled to be touring the UK and spreading the message about how easy it is to lower your cholesterol with dancing. Warming up is key before any physical activity so I have choreographed a fun jive-inspired warm up routine to help keep your heart healthy. Go ahead – take the challenge!”

Jo Wood added: “I have seen for myself the benefits dancing can have on your health. People of all ages, shapes and sizes can have high cholesterol without knowing, which is why it is important for everyone – particularly my age group – to have cholesterol testing. Dancing and using Flora pro.activ are two great ways to help manage cholesterol so I’m thrilled to support the Swing Into Action campaign and encourage others to take up the challenge.”

Additionally, Flora pro.activ has teamed up with Sarah Maxwell, fitness and lifestyle expert, to produce a booklet detailing facts about cholesterol and popular dances which help to lower cholesterol.

Sarah Maxwell, fitness and lifestyle expert says: “Taking some very simple steps to reduce your cholesterol levels is easy. Firstly, find out what your level is, by visiting your local pharmacist. If you do have raised cholesterol levels, then taking up exercise like dancing, three times per week and moving to a healthier diet will really help.”
