Gyms are closed, which has left many fitness lovers scratching their heads about how to keep active at home.
Thankfully, many of the country’s top fitness studios and trainers have come to our rescue, creating daily schedules of live-streamed workouts, so people can virtually take part in classes from their living rooms or gardens.
Not sure where to start? From gentle yoga to fast and furious HIT sessions, here’s who to follow for your next early-morning sweat session…
1. Psycle @psyclelondon
This boutique fitness brand started life as a spin studio, but has recently expanded to incorporate other types of workouts onto their schedule. Take your pick from restorative yoga classes, barre classes to sculpt, tone and lengthen, and challenging strength sessions that are sure to bring the early-morning burn. If you fancy a lie-in, you can also catch up on all of the workouts later – just head to Instagram’s IGTV area.
2. BLOK @bloklondon
East London and, more recently, Manchester’s coolest studio has partnered with Beats By Dr Dre to bring you the early morning endorphins and feel-good workout tunes. There are lots of different practices to choose from, including breathwork masterclasses, boxing and killer cardio workouts. We recommend throwing on your leggings for BlokBeat with Jahmarl – an all-out dance class that will have you voguing away the isolation blues.
3. Barry’s Bootcamp @barrysuk
Anyone who has taken a Barry’s Bootcamp class in real life will be familiar with their tough but effective methods for blitzing fat and sculpting muscle. The mother of all HIIT workouts is being streamed to BB’s usual weekly schedule, with a different focus every day – from abs and ass to lower body. There are even gruelling challenges to partake in too, like ticking off a cool 30 classes in 20 days. Pass the sweat towel…
4. Third Space @thirdspacelondon
Luxury health club Third Space are bringing their #trainingforlife mantra to the home, helping existing members and newbies to find a slice of normality while social distancing. From lifting to yin yoga, there’s a workout to suit every mood. Schedules are posted daily for the following day, so you can plan your workouts ahead of time.
5. The Move Studios @themovestudios
This mobility-driven studio are known for their yoga, primal movement and breathwork classes. With live sessions taking place daily on Instagram and Zoom, they’re the best place to go for a Sunday stretch or active recovery session. The schedule is led by some of the UK’s most exciting coaches, including yoga instructor Kim Hartwell and ‘The Breath Guy’ Richie Bostock, so your sure to be in good hands.
