Britain’s Got Talent star Lucy Kay is set to release her stunning debut album, ‘Fantasia’ on 29 September 2014, after signing a multi-album deal with Sony Classical.
Lucy, who trained at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, is determined to challenge preconceived stereotypes and introduce classical music to a wider audience with her fresh and approachable style.
Sony Classical label head, Liam Toner noted: " Lucy has a unique ability to reach beyond the normal boundaries of opera and touch the hearts of millions of people throughout the country. She truly is ‘The People’s Soprano’."
This album signifies the beginning of a new era for the 25 year-old Leicester born singer, described by The Daily Telegraph as - BGT's answer to One Direction: the runner-up who triumphed where it truly counts, in the real world."
‘Fantasia’ includes some of opera’s most beautiful melodies, such as ‘Un Bel Di’ from Madame Butterfly, ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’ featured in the film 'A Room with A View' and of course the famous aria ‘Nessun Dorma’, which saw Lucy steal the Nation’s hearts in her breathtaking performance on the finale of Britain’s Got Talent.
Lucy Kay said: "It is an honour to be working with Sony Classical, it is a dream come true. The support I have received from the public has been overwhelming and I’m excited to continue on my journey with them".
