The Xbox Scorpio external hard drive will be able to install games.
A degree of mystery continues to surround the new project from Microsoft, but Xbox boss Phil Spencer has revealed that gamers will be able to switch over a USB HDD they're using for the Xbox One for the new device.
The Xbox chief was asked: "Will I be able to take my USB HDD I use on One and plug it in Scorpio, having all my games?"
And Phil replied: "That's our plan, yes."
In March, meanwhile, Microsoft unveiled its livestream gaming service Beam Streaming.
Gamers using Xbox One consoles are able to livestream their video game sessions with others via Microsoft's own gaming broadcasting service.
The service is expected to rival Amazon's Twitch but users don't have to turn to apps like Twitch.
Microsoft bought the firm behind Beam in August 2016 for an undisclosed amount.
At that time, the service was still at the testing stage and hadn't yet made it to the general public.
However, it has allowed videgame users to modify some titles with the help of a software development kit.
