A Spider-Man video game title is expected to be released in 2017.
Insomniac's 'Spider-Man' was first mentioned during last year's E3 2016 gaming convention, during which it was revealed the video game - the first licensed title the company has ever produced - would enable gamers to become the iconic web-slinger in a completely original story, set in New York at a time when Peter Parker is "experienced" and "more masterful at fighting crime".
Now during a livestream, captured by Reddit user GamingSince95, Ryan Penagos, vice president and executive editor of Marvel Digital Media, hinted that a release would be later this year.
He spoke about Marvel's recent video game output and said "there's even more on the horizon for 2017 like Spider-Man coming to PlayStation 4 and Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC."
A description of the PlayStation 4 game, first announced in 2016 said: "From traversing with parkour and utilising the environment, to new combat and blockbuster set pieces, it's Spider-Man unlike any you've played before."
Insomniac, Sony and Marvel are yet to confirm a release date for the game although it's hoped that the game would be released to coincide with the Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures upcoming movie 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' - which comes to cinemas in July and stars the likes of Tom Holland as a young Peter Parker.
