Nintendo has confirmed Pokemon Go is on track for release in July.
The game developer revealed its gameplay and announced the schedule release window during the second day of Nintendo's E3 presentation.
In 'Pokemon Go', gamers will use their mobile phone to find and capture Pokemon in the real world.
Pokemon characters can be located in different areas which link to their type - e.g. water-based Pokemon can be found near areas of water like lakes and the sea.
'Pokemon Go' is being developed by Niantic, who has teamed up with The Pokémon Company and Niantic, which is known for the augmented-reality game 'Ingress'.
Pokemon said: "There will also be "candy" rewards, which players can use to evolve Pokemon.
"As for the sought-after legendaries, Pokemon like Mewtwo and Zapdos, Nintendo doesn't appear to have decided whether it will host local events in different cities to allow players to meet up and capture them."
In addition to 'Pokemon Go', Shigeru Miyamoto - the creator of several famous Nintendo franchises - announced the development of 'Pokemon Go Plus' as a new wearable Bluetooth device that flashes and vibrates when a Pokemon is nearby.
The app, available on iOS and Android in July - with the exact date still to be confirmed - is free to play but the Pokemon Go Plus Bluetooth device will retail at $35 in the US, and in the UK a price is yet to be confirmed.
But this device will not be available in time for the release.
