Phil Spencer has teased some "really great" announcements about the Xbox Games Pass.
Following the announcement that the hotly-anticipated next-gen Xbox Series X console will be released in November, but it's major game, 'Halo Infinite' will no longer be released at the same time, moving a 2021 launch, the executive vice-president of Gaming at Microsoft has revealed that they had considered releasing the title bit by bit, but ultimately it didn't sit well with them.
Speaking on 'Star Wars: Rogue One' screenwriter Gary Whitta's 'Animal Crossing' Twitch stream, he said: "Let me start just by recognising the fans, and the fact that it is a bummer.
"It is disappointing to people, it's disappointing to us. We were looking forward to the alignment of 'Halo Infinite' and the Xbox Series X."
He explained: "It just didn't feel, to all of us, like the 'Halo' release that we would want. I'll apologise to the fans, because I never like to set up expectations and then not hit them, but I also believe we're making the right decision, in the long run, for both Xbox and 'Halo' and our customers.
In the end I have to make the right decision.
The strength of the Halo franchise, the health and ability of the team ... are things tracking toward the quality of where you want the game?"
Despite the delay to 'Halo Infinite', Spencer has teased some news regarding their video game subscription service.
He said: "I'd say the positive for us, both through the May showcase and the summer and the July showcase, has been the rise of importance for us in Game Pass.
"We've got some more ... really great, strong, announcements to come about things... coming to Game Pass."
And he also revealed he has his own Xbox Series X console at home which is exactly the same as the consumer model.
He added: "I brought it home and opened it up. I want to have that same experience that people will have at home.
I put the batteries in the controller, everything is just as somebody will buy it in a retail story. There's nothing debug or employee about it."
