Ninja Theory has revealed photorealistic graphics for 'Project Mara'.
The 'Hellblade' developer - which is also working hard on upcoming sequel 'Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2' - has given gamers a major glimpse at its upcoming psychological horror with a new video showcasing the exciting technical capabilities of the highly anticipated title.
As detailed in the clip, the company's co-founder and chief creative Tameem Antoniades revealed how they decided to recreate a real, physical location for the game.
'Project Mara' takes place entirely inside one apartment, and the studio's artists worked hard to nail the desire levels of realism.
This involved jury-rigging a scanner to capture high-quality references of materials, while also hiring a specialised firm to scan the apartment to ensure every detail was faithfully recreated.
Rather than creating objects, Ninja Theory's artists are now focusing more on creating "systems that can create that object, and infinte variations of that object".
As reported by GameSpot, this includes using procedural genration to recreate little - but immersive - things like drip spatter on a kitchen sink, or dirt and dust collecting in the corner of the apartment itself.
There is currently no release date set for 'Project Mara'.
