Assassin’s Creed is a beloved franchise, but perhaps less so since the release of Assassin’s Creed: Origins in 2017, as the gameplay changed in a big way with the launch of that game. However, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, while still a new style for the franchise, is enjoyed by many fans, new and old alike, as its Viking theme is a hit with fans.
Fans seemed to love Eivor, the new main character for the series. He or she, depending on your choice at the start of the game, travels to England with their clan and embarks on multiple missions to gather allies from all over the country.
Six months after Valhalla’s release, the first DLC came out, titled Wrath of the Druids, and saw Eivor go to Ireland and see his cousin. The DLC allowed players to explore another, smaller map, and encounter new enemies that used challenging tactics to take the player down; not to mention werewolves prowling about.
That DLC seemed to go down well with players, as it was somewhat challenging and introduced new content and characters. It also reintroduced the pigeon coops, which were a big part of the first few Assassin’s Creed games, when Ezio was around.
So, with fans seemingly liking the newest instalment in the franchise more than the two that came before it, the introduction of another DLC and a new festival has everyone talking.
From tomorrow (July 29th, 2021) until August 19th, 2021, players will be able to enjoy another festival within their settlement, Ravensthorpe; as long as it is at level two.
Sigrblot Season marks the start of the festival, and the beginning of raiding season within the game. Users will have access to a boat-load of new content surrounding this event.
Many new features have been included in this event, such as flyting, fight tournaments, and dice mini-games.
There will also be three new missions available, and players will be able to collect brilliant new rewards such as decorations for your settlement, items to customise your Eivor with, and weapons.
Tokens can also be won from festival activities, which can be used to buy new gear, customisation items, and more.
One thing fans are ecstatic about, is the introduction of one-handed swords. Players have been waiting for this type of weapon for quite a while, and are excited to finally be able to have access to this kind of weapon.
An additional update is also planned for later in the year, in which new River Raid maps will be added to Francia and Ireland.
As for the new DLC, The Siege of Paris, it’s safe to say it is a highly-anticipated feature for the game, and with the release date finally out in the world, we can’t wait to see what Paris can offer Eivor.
Coming on August 12th, The Siege of Paris DLC will take players to Francia, and set Eivor on a new and dangerous path filled with amazing quests that will lead him to one of the most infamous battles in Viking history.
Players will have their pick of new weapons, gear, and have access to new abilities and even more skills to be used on new enemies within the DLC.
The Siege of Paris will also bring back a fan favourite feature: Infiltration missions.
These missions are directly inherited from highly-enjoyed Black Box missions, which allowed players to chose the best way to eradicate a chosen target.
The Siege of Paris DLC for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will be available from August 12th, 2021, for all Season Pass holders, or as a separate purchase by all owners of the main game.
