The studio posted some new stats for the game alongside a note thanking fans for their support since 2016.

The message read: "Thank you to over 37 million players that have been on this globe-trotting adventure with us since the launch of 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' in 2016.

"Millions of you [treasure] hunted, sought fortune and even discovered some golden nuggets.

"Here are some of the fun plunder ye dug up from the depths."

The studio revealed that there were 13.3 million multiplayer players, with 9.5 million gamers using an accessibility option and 12 million hitting "all the targets in the attic with the toy gun".

Troy Baker - who voiced Nathan Drake's brother Sam in the game - shared the post with his own Twitter followers and opened up on his own experiences.

He wrote: "This game represents so much to me. Not just as an actor but as a fan.

"This franchise simultaneously entertained me and showed me a star on the horizon to which I could point and say 'There. That's where I want to go.'

"Thank you, Dogs. For letting me come to play."
