Konami is involved in negotiations to bring 'Castlevania' to Nintendo Switch.
'Castlevania,' which dates back to 1986, is a series of dark fantasy-themed action-adventure video games created and developed by Konami. They are based on the Belmont family, a clan of vampire hunters, and follow their battles with Dracula.
And according to European brand manager Richard Jones, its developers are in talks with Nintendo to bring the adventure to the Nintendo Switch console.
Speaking to Miketendo64, Mr. Jones teased: "All I can say is that there is lots of internal discussions going on within Konami regarding what games we can bring to the Nintendo Switch, other than Bomberman, a game which we are well aware of its heritage and how loved it and 'Castlevania' is."
And despite not knowing for definite at this stage, fans should not be disappointed as he confirmed that all the hype around Castlevania's upcoming show on Nexflix supports the demand for a new game.
He added: "'Castlevania' is getting its own show on Netflix and because of that, we're hearing a lot of desires from our fans for a new 'Castlevania' series. So we do know there is a demand for a new game, but right now nothing is set in stone as the discussions are still on-going."
But when it comes to other Konami games like 'Bomberman R' being introduced to other consoles like Wii U, it's looking unlikely. Jones added: "Super Bomberman R was only ever considered for the Nintendo Switch. We first learned of the console in 2015 and our dev team started to think up what game would have the most impact on it and before you knew it, we were settled on doing a Bomberman game and not long after Super Bomberman R was conceived and development properly began in 2016."
Meanwhile, the upcoming Netflix 'Castlevania' series will be rolled out as a four-part season with each episode being 30 minutes long.
At the time of the announcement, producer and writer Adi Shankar said: "This is very much Castlevania done in the vein of Game of Thrones," adding it was going to be "R-rated as f***."
