A brand new Hearthstone patch will be adding exciting features to the addictive multiplayer game, and we've got the low down on what players can expect to see when they log in for the first time after downloading the update.
Several new Warcraft heroes are to make their debut on the title, with Magni Bronzebeard, the Warrior king of Khaz Modan and Thane of Ironforge being announced so far. Further new heroes are to be revealed in the coming weeks and months. To play as the new heroes, you'll have to splash out in the in-game Shop for £6.99 or on iOS for £8.99. Each Hero has custom portrait art, a bold thematic border, signature card back, set of personalised emotes and "special entrance animations as well as unique animations for their class's Hero Power."
Patch 2.7 will also see the launch of new game mode Tavern Brawl. The mystery of the missing fourth game menu button has been solved, with Hearthstone duelists now being given the opportunity to play the game in a different way, challenging fellow gamers in head-to-head battles with special rules or custom decks.
"Some Brawls will provide you with a preset deck, while others may have you build a new deck based on certain surprising guidelines. You may have to toughen up before entering the fray." Tavern Brawl will be available to all players, free to enter, once they have a level 20 Hero. During the launch period, a free pack of cards will be available to those who win their first Brawl per week, and it's being teased that different sets of rewards will be offered up from the innkeeper in the future.
Tavern Brawls will be available on Wednesday through to Sunday each week.
Finally is the announcement that you'll now be able to assign card backs to specific decks, meaning that instead of manually having to change your card back to suit your style in each game, you can select different card backs for all of your unique decks in advance.
