Guillermo Del Toro will present at The Game Awards this week.
The video game event will hold its annual celebration at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater on Thursday (07.12.17), and the organisers have confirmed the 'Hellboy' filmmaker and 'Death Stranding' director Hideo Kojima will present at the event.
A tweet on the ceremony's official Twitter account read: "Visionary film director and Kojima BFF Guillermo Del Toro presents live at #TheGameAwards on Thursday night! (sic)"
The Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley wrote: "It is always a great honor to welcome @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN to #TheGameAwards. I'm happy to confirm Hideo is attending and will present an award with @RealGDT on Thursday night! You won't want to miss it."
Geoff also revealed this year's ceremony will feature the "biggest set yet" in the spectacle's history.
He tweeted: "This year we have our biggest set yet in terms of scale and scope - and the introduction of The Game Awards orchestra. We're investing as much as we can to make this a special night. (sic)"
The forthcoming presence of Guillermo and Hideo have led some fans to speculate it could mean new details of or footage of 'Death Stranding' - which is yet to have a release date - could be revealed.
Guillermo is to lend his visuals to a character in the game through facial and body scanning, and actors Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen will also play characters through the likes of motion capture and facial scanning.
