As the one-year anniversary of Ghost of Tsushima approaches, PlayStation are announcing the new director’s cut for the game on both PS4 and PS5 later in 2021!
The original game, released last year (2020), had players control Jin, a samurai on a mission to protect Tsushima Island as the first Mongol invasion of Japan takes place.
Ghost of Tsushima is a beautiful and stunning action-adventure game, with breath-taking graphics and visuals.
The game is open world, meaning players can explore the world before them and take their time to see everything the game has to offer.
On August 20th, 2021, players will be able to get their hands on the incredible Director’s Cut of Ghost of Tsushima, which not only includes the original game and every single piece of additional content released so far, but also a brand-new adventure for Jin.
Andrew Goldfarb, communications manager for Sucker Punch Productions (the company who developed the game) is more than excited for August to come around, so players can see the stunning new additions to the already brilliant game.
Goldfarb stated that “We’ve thought a lot about how to expand Jin’s story, and we’ve also spent the last year poring over all of your feedback about how we could improve the experience of playing Ghost of Tsushima.”
“We’ve been hard at work on a brand-new edition of the game” continues Goldfarb, “which not only includes a new chapter in Jin’s journey, but also some new updates that are a direct response to some of the community’s most-requested features.”
Players will be able to experience Iki Island, land that was also invaded by Mongols during the Tsushima attacks. The new story follows Jin to this island, where he has heard rumours of Mongol presence. However, his journey quickly turns into a fight against his past – something he will be forced to reckon with.
While the game will be available on PS4 and PS5, buying the game on PS5 will get you some exclusive features. Fans complained about the lip synching on the original game, so developers have utilised the PS5’s capabilities to render cinematics in real time, and offer lip synching for the Japanese voice overs.
Not only that, but the Director’s Cut will also take advantage of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. PS5 users can also expect enhancements on 3D audio, as well as dramatically improved loading times and framerates aiming for 60 FPS.
Other updates for the Director’s Cut will include options for alternative controller layout, as well as the option to enable target lock-on during combat.
Additionally, for players who already own Ghost of Tsushima, you will be able to transfer your progress from your old save to the new game; so you can pick up exactly where you left off.
Ghost of Tsushima will be out August 20th, 2021; get ready to play as Jin once more as you explore a new region, face new threats, and battle for Iki Island!
