Gaming on the go is something that has become a lot more common in recent months and years. With the news earlier this month that a Nintendo Switch update would finally allow players to enjoy Bluetooth audio, there are a lot of gamers looking for some quality earbuds or headphones that they can use wirelessly with the device.
Earlier this year, EPOS unveiled their GTW 270 Hybrid Earbuds, and ever since, we’ve been putting them to the test. Here’s what we think after enjoying a few months with the simple and affordable earbuds…
Packaged with a USB-C Bluetooth receiver - which is arguably the star of the show - using the earbuds is self-explanatory. What may worry hardcore gamers is whether there could be lag between device audio and the earbuds receivers but, it seems non-existent. Throughout the weeks of using them, I have experienced no lag whatsoever.
The audio is also crystal clear, delivering a premium experience at a price tag that doesn’t make your eyes water. Coupling this with the stunning design that steers away from the attention-seeking, bulky designs we’ve seen some earbuds adopt in the past, makes for a pleasing end-result.
Designed to be as compact and comfortable as possible, EPOS deliver once again with an ergonomic, soft shape that naturally adjusts to the user's ear. There are also a host of different, swappable silicone tips, so that you can adjust and amend your fit until they’re as close to perfection as possible.
Whilst gaming is the primary function here, the earbuds can be used outside of that world. So, if you’re in the middle of a gaming session and want to start listening to some music, before being interrupted with a phone call, then you’re good to go; the earbuds will help you through all of it. EPOS also say that you can pair with up to eight devices so, you’re covered on all bases!
If you’re looking to game on the go and want some luxury earbuds at a reasonable price point, then you really can’t go wrong here. EPOS have delivered a stellar product once again that deliver an immersive gaming experience.
