A virtual reality game focused on Darth Vader is in the works.
Speaking at the Star Wars Celebration convention in London over the weekend, screenwriter David S. Goyer revealed that a VR adventure featuring the 'Star Wars' villain is going ahead, and that players would be drooped into the Sith Lord's world in the title.
Goyer, 50, said: "What character is so iconic that we need to know more? [Where] we can't sleep at night and want to experience things that can't be experienced in film, or can't be experienced in a novel? And we came up with ... this person."
He added: "The world I came up with, that I'm pushing, is you are 'the visitor' - the visitor in this story that's happening around you that you may have some effect on.
"You can pick up things, you can open things, you can push things. You can walk and touch characters. Imagine being in a movie."
He also teased the possibility of other 'Star Wars' appearing, adding: "It includes characters you know, or some that may have been talked about that you haven't seen before.
"We've got this incredible new storytelling platform that allows you to feel in a way you never felt before, and possibly feel for someone in a way you've never felt for them before. And it allows you to feel like you're in a real place."
Goyer - who is best known for his screenwriting work on films such as 'Batman Begins', 'Man of Steel' and 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' - made it clear that the project was still in its infancy, but he is already working with Lucasfilm's story group to ensure it fits in with the 'Star Wars' cannon.
He explained: "I'm really, really excited for a year or two - whenever it happens - and you guys get to experience what we're working on. It's pretty mind-blowing."
A new 'Star Wars' VR project, 'Trials on Tatooine', is being released for free for HTC Vive users on Steam on Monday (10.07.16).
Meanwhile, Darth Vader will be seen on the big screen again in December in 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' - which focuses on the Rebellion's mission to steal the plans to the Death Star space station.
