Call of Duty: Black Ops III; Awakening is now available on both PS4 and Xbox One, and so we've taken a look at the four new multiplayer maps the DLC adds to the game, ranking them from our least to most favourite. Find out if you agree below...

4) Rise

Snowy maps and I don't really get on well when it comes to Black Ops III, but that's not to say Rise isn't a successful addition. This is a large map not for the faint of heart, with various sections catering to different styles of gameplay. Whether you enjoy long-range, close-range, on the ground, in the air or underwater combat, there should be something for you to really stick your teeth into with Rise.

3) Skyjacked

Hijacked was one of the most popular maps Call of Duty: Black Ops II ever spawned, and so it makes a triumphant return through Awakening, revamped high above urban Zurich on a flying ship, rather than a boat. There are new ways to explore the environment but many of the core elements remain the same, allowing nostalgia to creep through and the fast and frantic gameplay to return. This map's a lot of fun, but it would be unfair on the newbies to rank it any higher.

2) Gauntlet

Unless you're great with long-ranged attacks, you may want to stay away from the forest/jungle type area of this map. It's great in allowing people camouflage but if you're better with close-range action then you should stick to the snowy and rainy street areas. Gauntlet is surprisingly fresh in that it offers so many different terrains to play in, meaning every playthrough on this map feels brand new. There is however one addition that surpasses it...

1) Splash

Splash is perhaps the most gorgeous map a Call of Duty game has ever seen. Taking to an abandoned water park, players can hide in a variety of different coloured slides, attractions and visit a place that once was likely teeming with exciting visitors and children. Now though it's a place for warfare meaning its colourful vibrancy is a stark contrast to the death and destruction which can take place in a single game. There are also multiple options for underwater combat adding yet another exciting layer.

The Call of Duty: Awakening DLC is now available on both Xbox One and PS4.
