The 'Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War' beta test was the most downloaded in the franchise's history.
Activision hasn't revealed the exact numbers of downloads for the recent test run, but the studio is clearly delighted with the way fans have flocked to take part.
In a post on the official 'Call of Duty' Twitter account, the team confirmed: "Thanks #BlackOpsColdWar fans everywhere, you've made the Multiplayer Beta the most downloaded in Call of Duty history."
The game has beaten the previous record holder, which was the beta for Infinity War's 2019 title 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare'.
It shouldn't be a huge surprise that 'Black Ops Cold War' has done so well, as it launched towards the end of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 run, with a massive user base.
There were also a lot of bonuses to entice players, including an exclusive sub-machine gun blueprint to use in the full game, and the chance to use Agent Adler as a playable character on 'Call of Duty: Mobile'.
The latter has also enjoyed success, with over 300 million people downloading the game.
Matt Lewis - the title's general manager - said: "It feels fantastic to be able to offer fun, free entertainment to millions."
