Brainiac is the latest villain to be added to the roster for 'Injustice 2'.
NetherRealm studios has released its final trailer in the 'Shattered Alliances' series - a five-part trailer series designed to give fans a deeper understanding of the new rivalries and forces that will shake the in-game world when 'Injustice 2' hit shelves next month - and it has been revealed that Brainiac, a primary foe of Superman, will be one of the main super villains wreaking havoc on Earth.
The trailer, entitled 'Official Injustice 2 Trailer - Shattered Alliances Part 5' highlights Brainiac, who is the mastermind of the conflict at the heart of the video game. The trailer shows the character invading Earth in a giant skull shaped space ship, before demanding an audience with Superman.
At the end of the trailer, the words "No remorse, no prisoners no survivors" can be seen on the screen alongside footage of Brainiac fighting against the game's array of heroes which includes Superman, Batman, and Aquaman.
'Injustice 2' - the sequel to 'Injustice: Gods Among Us' - will feature a massive roster of DC Comics characters such as Batman, Supergirl, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, Atrocitus, Aquaman, Cyborg and Deadshot.
And players will be able to do battle in iconic locations such as Batman's home Gotham City, Metropolis which is protected by Superman and Aquaman's Atlantis kingdom.
Players will be able to build and power up the ultimate version of their favourite DC characters and take control of how their character looks, fights and develops throughout the game.
The story follows the cinematic tale introduced in 'Injustice: Gods Among Us' as Batman works towards rebuilding society while struggling against those who want to restore Superman's regime.
Ed Boon, Creative Director at NetherRealm Studios, has teased that the title is going to re-define the limits of what a fighting game can be.
Boon said: "In 'Injustice 2', we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games. We're always interested in pushing the genre forward and allowing players to customise and level-up their favourite DC superheroes and super-villains is a significant leap."
'Injustice 2 arrives in the UK on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 19, 2017.
