BlizzCon 2018 saved its big announcement for last at the opening ceremony, and came up with the news that Warcraft 3 would be getting the remaster treatment, releasing at some point in 2019 under the name Warcraft 3: Reforged.

Many say that Warcraft 3 is the game that really launched the Warcraft franchise into legendary status. The RTS title is certainly one that has millions of fans across the globe, and whilst not many of them expected it would be making a return, the news has been welcomed by many.

This last little nugget of information is a really exciting one! The fact each hero will be available in both male and female gender, as well as including a number of skins for each brings a layer of personalisation to the game that we hadn't seen before.
Given a fresh lick of paint, updated graphics and even being remastered so that it will be supported on 4K, Blizzard Entertainment will truly be hoping to knock it out of the park with this upcoming release.
Screenshots of the Reforged gameplay have also been revealed, and whilst they're not 100% confirmed to be what the final product will look like, it's all certainly headed in the right direction! Check them out:
