'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' will be a launch title for the Xbox Series S and X consoles.
The highly anticipated game - the latest in Ubisoft's long running franchise - was originally due on November 17, but it will now be released a week earlier to bring it in line with Microsoft's next generation hardware.
Producer Julien Laferriere said: "We are excited to announce that players will be able to discover 'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' sooner than expected!
"We cannot wait to see the world we've been creating over the past three years coming to life on all platforms, including on the next generation of consoles."
The new launch date for the Viking adventure title also applies to the PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, Xbox One and PC editions of the game.
On Series X, 'Valhalla' will benefit from "higher resolution textures and improved shadow quality", and "clutter density".
As well as running at 4K and 60FPS, the title will use the console's own SSD for smoother traversal and faster loading times.
Furthermore, the Smart Delivery tag means players wil be able to upgrade from Xbox One to Series X without paying any extra.
