Putting together a gaming chair can be a difficult task at the best of times, but when it came to the AndaSeat Jungle 2, it was actually a relatively simple affair.
The professional seating specialists have released a slew of different office and gaming offerings over the years and so, getting to grips with yet another for review purposes was an exciting prospect.
My immediate reaction to the chair, once it was constructed and ready to go however, was that it was probably best-suited to people who don’t stand at six feet. Though the leatherette with velvet plush liner fabric is comfortable, the footrest isn’t quite long enough to actually rest your feet on, if you’re taller than the average person.
So, because of this, rather than acting as a footrest, the seat - which is built to support a maximum height of 5 foot 11 inches and a maximum weight of 330 pounds - includes what many may think better serves as a leg rest. Not exactly what AndaSeat promised with the Jungle 2 and, if you’re sat in a normal position, a footrest that may actually cause aching rather than comfort.
It also feels a little flimsy. Rather than using a lever to extend the footrest, you simply have to pull it out and push it back in manually. It’s not exactly a match for the rest of the chair, which almost delivers luxury.
Still, if you’re on the smaller side, you can’t go far wrong with this all-black gaming chair offering. It very much looks the part, taking elements of bucket seats you would find in racing chairs and combining that with a sleek and stylistic design. It’s not gaudy or obnoxious; it’s simply a good looking chair that wouldn’t look out of place in an office or as part of any gaming set-up.
Coming in at a relatively cheap price point, it’s certainly worth considering if you’re shorter than your average fellow human. I’d say that 5 foot 11 inches is a bit generous when it comes to a maximum height, which should have perhaps been reduced by a couple of inches.
The AndaSeat Jungle 2 is available now, priced at £249.99.
