Daytime TV Hosts Anne Diamond and Matthew Wright face a backlash of angry gamers over comments made on last weeks show 'The Wright Stuff'

'Gamers Voice' a gaming union have told gaming fans across the world to complain to Ofcom about Anne Diamond blaming Grand Theft Auto for drive by shootings.

Anne starts by telling Wright that Gang violence has got worse since games like GTA first appeared, in which he replies that gang crime has been common since beore games were made.

Anne then states,"I'm not sure about that. We seem to be seeing more of it. We're seeing kids with an arsenal of weapons under their bed when then something snaps and they go into their old school and shoot it up. We do tend to be seeing crimes that ape the things that are happening in video games."

Since the incident millions of angry gamers have complained to Ofcom about the biased opinion of the presenters and also that the show showed clips of 18 rated game Call of duty, when the show airs at 10:30am. Matthew Wright has retaliated against the backlash calling gamers, "A bunch of brain-dead computer nerds."

This is not the first time however that presenters have blasted video game. The famous incident at the Alan Titchmarsh show, proved how ill-informed people were about the gaming industry with Julie Peaswood stating games "promote racism" and "cause low self-esteem and depression",

Computerandvideogames.com (CVG) have launched a campaign which has circulated on Twitter called #WRONGCVG where users can express their opinions about how people are ill informed about video games. The group urges people to complain to Ofcom as well as write in to The Wright Stuff.

People like Wright, Diamond and Titchmarsh have debated their anti-games stance with a series of false allegations about the industry, such as 85% of games are violent, Games are easily sold to children and that games influence children to be violent.

These are the true facts

1. Only 1 in 20 video games are violent, the other 19 are made for children.

2. Games are rated just the same as movies and CD's with official age ratings.

3. The video games industry is extremely strict on children buying games and it is harder for a child to buy an 18 game than it is to buy an 18 film.

4. If a parent buys an 18 rated game for their child, then this is illegal and the parent should not blame anybody else. You wouldn't let your child buy an 18 film so why buy them buy an 18 game?

5. And remember there is no proven link between video games and violence. Violence has been around long before the first games console ever exist.
