Konami Digital Entertainment has revealed that Hideo Kojima, the creator of the Metal Gear Solid series of games, has been promoted to the position of vice president.
The veteran games designer, who became director of his own studio within Konami, Kojima Productions, in 2005, previously had a vice president position within Konami Computer Entertainment Japan.
He will start in his new role from April 1st.
Several other appointments were also announced. Three new directors were added to the board - Kazuyuki Kisohara, Yasuyuki Yamaji and Mineaki Yoshiba, while Pro Evolution Soccer producer Shinji Enomoto was also promoted to the role of vice president.
The company also revealed that Kazuhiko Uehera will become the CEO of Hudsonsoft, which was recently acquired by Konami.
