The drone will be capable of launching from an aircraft carrier and then diving underwater where it will operate in its new aquatic form.

Upon impact with the surface of the water, the drone will be capable of detaching the portion of its wings no longer necessary to reduce drag and allow for more streamlined underwater travel.
Once the drone has completed its task, it will then of course resurface and deliver the information it has gathered.
As mentioned, there are designs for the drone, but a real vehicle has not yet been built or even commissioned.
Nevertheless, this does bring us one step closer to creating actual James Bond or Batman-esque gadgets and equipment.
