Limerick Lemonade

Jameson’s Irish Whisky

Lemonade

Triple Sec (or other orange liqueur)

Lemon juice

Sugar syrup (really easy to make – add sugar to water. Keep adding and stirring until it will no longer dissolve – and you have sugar syrup)

Method:

Add 20ml whisky, 20ml Triple Sec, 10ml lemon juice and 10ml sugar syrup to a cocktail shaker – shake hard for 5-10 seconds.

Pour over cubed ice.

Add lemonade and serve.

Irish Whisky Sour

Ingredients:

Jameson’s Irish Whisky

Lemon Juice

Orange juice

Sugar syrup

Method:

Add 50ml whisky, 30ml sugar syrup, 30ml lemon juice and 30ml orange juice (freshly squeezed ideally) to a cocktail shaker.

Shake hard for 5-10 seconds.

Pour over ice and serve.

Dublin Old Fashioned

Ingredients:

Jameson’s Irish Whisky

Cherry juice (buy a small jar of cherries and use the juice they sit in)

Soft brown sugar

Orange slice

Angora Bitters

Method:

Add teaspoon of soft brown sugar, dash of bitters and an orange slice to a tumbler and ‘muddle’. This is essentially mixing and mashing the ingredients together to extract the flavour. You can buy a muddler at most supermarkets, but the end of a rolling pin would also work.

Half fill with cubed ice.

Add 30ml Jameson’s whisky.

Add teaspoon of cherry juice and stir slowly– the longer you stir the better, and it will also melt the ice, softening the whisky flavour. Stir for at least 30 seconds, but a minute is ideal – it’s a drink worth waiting for!

Add 30ml more whisky and fill up with ice.

Stir for a further 30 seconds to one minute and serve.
