When we were contacted by Dinnr we were seriously impressed with their company, it’s a food delivery service that basically brings the meal to you.
This isn’t a take-away, don’t get the wrong idea, Dinnr will deliver fresh ingredients in just the right amount to your doorstep for you to create the perfect meal.
It couldn’t be simpler, you choose which meal you fancy impressing your partner with and they send everything to you in record time.
We were given the chance to try out this incredible service, so we chose the menu inspired by Polpo, a top London restaurant.
It is part of their three new menus especially for Valentine’s Day which each consist of three courses inspired by exquisite London restaurants.
The Polpo menu consists of -
Starter: Insalata Caprese with Spring Onion
Main: Butternut Squash Risotto with Crispy Sage
Dessert: Tiramisu Verrine
Firstly, we have to mention that the delivery was spot on. We chose a day and it was there for when we’d asked – fantastic service.
After unpacking all the ingredients from the well-packaged box it was easy to see that these ingredients were of top quality.
The tomatoes were plump and juicy, the cheeses of high quality and everything in just the right proportions.
The menu will come will full instructions, letting you know when to cook everything, and how to cook it.
This was great because it even takes timing into account, which is often the part that people fall down on when cooking.
As instructed, the Tiramisu Verrine was the first to be prepared. The instructions proved to be simple and easy to follow, meaning that the Tiramisu looked amazing when it was finished.
It took everything not to eat it right away so in the fridge it went and onto the next step. This is where the instructions really came into play.
They stated that you make the first step of the Insalata Caprese and the once you’ve done that, to begin on the Butternut Squash Risotto.
Now for those who’ve watched a fair bit of Come Dine with Me, you’ll know that Risotto is notoriously difficult to execute well.
Thankfully, due to the high quality ingredients, and they fact they are measured to perfection, the Risotto was nothing less than perfect.
In fact, the entire meal went exactly to plan, something that rarely happens for any novice cook.
What Dinnr really provide is an enjoyable cooking experience which melts away the idea that having to cook a three course meal will have you tearing your hair out.
And with their Valentine’s Day collections you can enjoy the luxury of a five star restaurant for a fraction of the price from your own home – you can even add a box of chocolates and a card to your order to make it a truly special evening.
Try something different this Valentine’s Day and visit www.dinnr.co.uk, you really won’t regret it.
