When December comes around, one of the things I personally get most excited about is seeing what delights the supermarkets come up with when it comes to their festive sandwich offerings. So, when Tesco and Morrisons both asked if we’d like to try some of what they had on their shelves, I couldn’t resist the allure of some turkey (and all the trimmings!).

Here are the six I got try and what I thought of each:

Morrisons Turkey Lunch Wrap

Extremely well-packed inside a sturdy wrap, this feast is enough to tide you over until your dinner! If you can’t wait for the big day, then get all of your favourite lunch items combined here; it was absolutely delicious. I’m not usually a massive fan of wraps over the regular bread, but this felt special.

Tesco Finest Turkey Feast Sandwich

The Tesco Finest range is something I always keep an eye on if I’m shopping in the supermarket and want to pick up some quick lunch. So, to see a Turkey Feast Sandwich return to their range was an exciting prospect! The bread, whilst it looks tougher than your usual, is the perfect texture, and embedded with sage and cranberry. It covers either side of delicious fillings including turkey, bacon, stuffing, port and cranberry sauce and mayonnaise.

Morrisons Pigs in Blankets Baguette Sub Roll

Why don’t we eat Pigs in Blankets all year round? Morrisons put one of our favourite side dishes from December in a delicious, soft sub. Just make sure to open it up first before jumping right in so you can organise your ingredients, as they may fall a little all over the place in the car journey home! You don’t want to get a mouth of just cranberry sauce in one bite, then just a bit of sausage in the next!

Wicked Kitchen Festive Feast Wrap from Tesco

A vegan alternative to the classic Christmas sandwich here, with pea protein 'turkey' alongside parsnips, crisp greens, traditional sage and onion stuffing, with cranberry and creamy vegan gravy mayo. All wrapped together in a soft tortilla, it may not look as fun as some of the other sandwiches on offer, but it’s just as yummy.

Morrisons Brie & Cranberry Sandwich

I’m a massive fan of Brie & Cranberry lunch bites, but Morrisons decided to add in some mayo here which wasn’t the best decision. It felt a little overpowering because of the amount used; if they pulled back a little on the mayo - or removed it completely - they’d be onto a winner. A little disappointing.

Tesco Brie & Cranberry Sandwich

Here, the sandwich was done much better. Spinach goes alongside the titular two ingredients, between two slices of malted brown bread. Absolutely delicious.
