Hello everyone,
I don't know about you but the weather is being really up and down! Last weekend, I got to spend some time with Gabi Roslin on Radio London which was very exciting, I shall give you a full report in my next blog post. I am currently getting together my last few bits for my trip to Italy, the weather is looking fantastic so very excited about getting some proper sun and a little mini break before we jet off to Thailand and the Middle East.
Last year I went through a wonderful journey with Peck Nutrition, which is a company that helps you with your nutrition and achieve body goals as well as helping with diets if you suffer from IBS and Coeliac Disease to help your body work to the best of its ability. Throughout my experience, I had the lovely Anika guide me through the process. Since the process I have really felt that I have much more of a routine when it comes to eating, I also feel like I have much more of a balanced diet and have become less afraid of carbohydrates, you just need to know the types of portion sizes.
This is a really great course to do if you have IBS, Coeliac or you just want to get a good plan in place in terms of eating. Remember your weight is based on 20% exercise and 80% food so it really is vital, you could be doing all the exercise in the world like me and not feeling the full effects. For more details of my journey with Peck Nutrition and details about their courses plus website information, check out my post I wrote: http://blog.biteappy.com/blog/peck-nutrition-programme/
One of my absolute favourite drinks at the moment is this raw chocolate almond milk smoothie, it is so easy to make and absolutely delicious, mixed up with some banana it gives you bags of energy and will keep your hunger at rest, if I have it for breakfast I leave the ice cream out and add in some ice but if I want it as a pudding I shall add in some vanilla coconut ice cream. The dark chocolate almond milk I tend to get from Alpro. Check the recipe here: http://blog.biteappy.com/blog/raw-chocolate-almond-milk-smoothie/
Restaurant Hangout of the Week
The Cricketers Arms is a lovely country pub tucked away in Polegate in a small village called Berwick. It has a lovely garden at the front of the pub which is perfect for summer days so you can eat outside. As we walked in they had a lovely log fire burning which instantly added to the cosiness of the pub. There are a few different seating areas if you have children they cannot sit in the bar area. We looked at the menu and to my delight, it was all labelled with gluten free options which makes it so much easier. We decided to skip starters and go straight to main as we were both having burgers.
When I was ordering the waitress went to check in the kitchen if they had gluten-free buns, which they did so I had the burger which was gluten free as it was all homemade. The food arrived and we were not disappointed, the portions were large, the burger was huge and looked so juicy, they accompanied it with a gorgeous tomato chutney which was amazing. The gluten free bun was also really nice, so it as a real treat to have a burger with a delicious bun. I would highly recommend a visit here, they are clued up on gluten free and other food allergies when I asked them about it.
Until next time.
