Every year about 27,000 kilos of strawberries are eaten during the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, but if you don’t fancy sticking to tradition and eating them with cream this year, perhaps it is time to try them with a Russian twist… the Berryoska Stawberry.
There are 33 Russian participants in this year’s competition, including the ever-glamorous, but recently knocked-out Maria Sharapova and the women’s’ number one seed Dinara Safina.
As Centre Court basks in the sunlight with so far little need for the new multi-million pound roof, Russians and tennis fans alike will be hoping to toast their favourite player’s victory with the thirst quenching, refreshing new cocktail from Russian Standard Vodka – the Berryoska Strawberry.
Russian Standard Original is a masterpiece of technology, passion and cratfsmanship, recognized in its homeland as a benchmark for excellent.
Along with using only the finest wheat from the Russian steppes and pure glacial waters from Lake Ladoga, Russian Standard Original strictly follows the famous original formula created in 1894 by Professor Mendeleev to create a truly authentic Russian vodka.
There are also some additional hidden benefits in the Berryoska Strawberry - strawberries are a well-known source of natural sugar and provide great quantities of vitamin C as well as potassium, which is an essential mineral in your diet.
How to enjoy Berryoska Strawberry:
50ml/1.7 fl oz Russian Standard Original
4 – 6 strawberries
Juice of half a lime
3 tsp. sugar
Crushed Ice
In a tumbler, muddle the lime juice, sugar and strawberries to create a paste. Top the glass up with crushed ice. Add Russian Standard Vodka and stir well. Top with extra crushed ice and garnish with a sliced strawberry.
The Berryoska Strawberry is one of a series of forest fruit cocktails created exclusively by Russian Standard Vodka; other cocktails include the Berryoska Raspberry, Redcurrant and Blackberry.
