The Tapas Revolution continues...
The Tapas Revolution continues, as young talented chef Omar Allibhoy announces his plan to open a second Madrid-style all-day tapas bar. Due to popular demand, the new Tapas Revolution will open in Bluewater, on the week of 14th November.
This second branch is located in Bluewater’s much anticipated Plaza and is set to match the huge success of critically acclaimed Tapas Revolution in Westfield London (Shepherd’s Bush), which opened last year. The restaurant has since gone from strength to strength and attracted a whole host of celebrity diners, including Penelope Cruz, Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks, Ed Westwick, and Bill Nighy.
The new Tapas Revolution will create the same buzz and excitement, as it has to Westfield over the last year. Guests will be able to start the day with a Spanish style ‘Full English Breakfast’ (chorizo, patatas bravas, egg and toast), or enjoy tapas y vinos (tapas with wine) for lunch or dinner, pick up an authentic bocadillo (sandwich), grab a Churros Con Chocolate if they are on the move, or sip on a refreshing glass of Cava whilst taking in the Spanish ambience.
The passionate 27-year-old chef, recently referred to as the Antonio Banderas of cooking by Gordon Ramsay promises to use only the freshest ingredients in his kitchen and will also source key produce from small farms in Spain, including Jamon Iberico, traditional cheeses, chorizo and charcuterie. Award-winning Sommelier, Bruno Murciano has joined forces with Omar to carefully select regional Spanish wines to complement the tapas on the menu, which will all be available by the glass.
Interior specialists and last year’s winners of the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards, DesignLSM are currently bringing to life Omar’s ideas for the new Tapas Revolution. The team are creating a sleek modern take on a traditional Spanish tapas bar, which includes an open plan kitchen, a square 30-metre pewter bar that will be surrounded by 40 high stools and there will also be a number of red leather booths for larger groups and families. Within this unique setting, guests can experience the speed and excitement of a real all-day tapas bar. Iberian retail products will also be on sale at the restaurant so that customers can cook tasty Spanish tapas in their homes.
Omar Says: "Bluewater is a great location to open our next Tapas Revolution and I'm sure our visitors will experience what it's truly like to eat at an authentic tapas bar. It’s always been important for me to show the British public quality but affordable Spanish food and I believe Tapas Revolution achieves just that. Opening a second tapas bar is a great opportunity to continue spreading the word about great Spanish tapas and will bring the real taste of Spain to Kent."
